Happy February! I would like to take a moment to say thank you for your continued membership in the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL). February is BAMSL Member Appreciation Month and we have some exciting news and events to share.

  1. Our newly designed Web site went live today!!! I invite you to check it out at www.bamsl.org. I think you will find that it is easier to navigate and more user-friendly. Thank you to our dedicated staff and our Web site hosts Member Central for making continued improvements for you.
  2. On Feb. 13, the Executive Committee invites you to a Meet & Greet with your BAMSL Officers from 8 to 9 a.m. at the BAMSL Bar Center. Come on by for a cup of coffee and a chat with your leadership.
  3. On Feb. 21, YLD hosts another Rap ‘N Pack at Operation Food Search from 5:30-7:30 p.m. All BAMSL members are welcome to attend and a huge thank you to Hon. Carol Jackson for sponsoring this event.
  4. On Feb. 26, we will honor the new BAMSL Legal Pioneers with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. at the BAMSL Bar Center. Congratulations to the new inductees: Wesley Bell, Dana Tippin Cutler, Hon. Gloria Reno and Hon. Robin Vannoy.
  5. On Feb. 27, we host a Member Appreciation Happy Hour with motivational guest speaker Isaac Bruce, a former St. Louis Rams wide receiver who is a class of 2019 finalist for the NFL Hall of Fame (keep your fingers crossed for tomorrow’s announcement!). We want to show our appreciation to you and hope you will mark your calendars to attend this reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at a venue to be announced in the coming days.
  6. On Feb. 28, we wrap up the month with our annual Pro Bono Challenge Awards luncheon. We appreciate the service our members provide to the community and this is a great way to recognize the more than 37,217 hours of pro bono service our Pro Bono Challenge firms provided in 2018. Please join us at noon at the St. Louis Club to honor these amazing attorneys.
  7. Finally, I wanted you to know we have listened to you and beginning next week, you will receive just one CLE email per week, each Thursday. These emails will list all upcoming CLEs with a link for more information and to register.

Thank you again for your membership in BAMSL and I hope to see you at these great events throughout February.

Sincerely,
John Simon
BAMSL President, 2018-19

P.S. Don’t forget to mark your calendars: Judicial Retirement Dinner is March 21 and Law Day is May 2.
