Susan McCourt Baltz is the chief executive officer and managing executive of BAMSL and the Saint Louis Bar Foundation. She oversees the development of programs and policies, provides direction to the Executive Committee and the Board of Governors, and supervises day-to-day operations.

Susan also is responsible for the financial health of the organization, including fundraising, sponsorships, and supervising fiscal and budgetary matters such as budget preparation and accounting. She also is responsible for managing the implementation of the mission statement and ensuring the effectiveness of the BAMSL staff.

She serves as staff liaison with local, state, and federal elected and appointed officials at executive, legislative, and judicial levels. She makes recommendations to the boards of both organizations about broad general policies that will further their goals and objectives. She is the face of the bar and is expected to establish and maintain positive relationships with members of the judiciary, other bar associations, and the general public.

Her duties include being visionary and constantly aware of changing trends in membership, and changing needs of the members of the legal community.
 

Jadii Castillo is responsible for Membership Services as well as the Sustaining Partnership Program. Additionally, she sells advertising space in the bimonthly St. Louis Law Journal magazine, the weekly Legal Pulse newsletter, and the BAMSL website. She serves as the staff liaison to the Trial Section, Family and Juvenile Law Section, Solo and Small Firm Section, and the Patent, Trademark and Copyright Section, as well as several Committees. She is also an active member in the National Association of Bar Executives, Legal Marketing Association, St. Louis Paralegal Association, and the Association of Legal Administrators. 

Jadii earned her B.S. degree from Murray State University.

Heather Esselborn is the Director of Accounting for the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL). She brings extensive experience in accounting, auditing, and budgeting, having worked with organizations including Stereotaxis, the Internal Revenue Service, and Charter Communications. At BAMSL, she manages accounting and budgeting for both BAMSL and the Saint Louis Bar Foundation, while assisting with financial analysis, projections, and strategy.

Heather holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Jennifer Macke independently operates BAMSL's Legal Placement Service. She is very successful in placing legal secretaries, paralegals, and attorneys in permanent positions with area law firms and in-house legal departments.

Macke previously was an associate attorney with a law firm in Ventura, Calif.

Gary Stevens is responsible for internal and external marketing and communications for BAMSL. He oversees content creation for digital and print materials and event promotion. He serves as the staff liaison to the Patent, Trademark and Copyright Section, as well as several committees, including Appellate Practice, Immigration, Social Security and Veterans. 

Gary earned his B.S.B.A. degree from Creighton University and MBA from Robert Morris University as well as a certificate in Digital Marketing from the University of Illinois.

Jennifer Swayne plays a key role in the planning and execution of events and service projects, with a focus on logistics, communications, and volunteer coordination. She manages a master organizational calendar, supports project execution, and oversees the scheduling and setup of meeting and event spaces. Jennifer supports marketing and outreach initiatives, assists in managing event timelines and follow-up reporting. She also provides strategic administrative support.

Jennifer earned her B.S. degree from the University of Illinois.

Mega Emeje answers the telephone, assists members with their membership needs and greets members and visitors to BAMSL.

Mega is a student at St. Louis Community College.

Renee Hilyard answers the telephone, assists members with their membership needs and greets members and visitors to BAMSL.

Renee is a student at Maryville University.
