Danny Barnett-Foster Appointed to American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division’s Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity Committee - Recent News

Danny Barnett-Foster, assistant executive director of operations for The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL), has been appointed Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Young Lawyers Division (YLD) Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity (SOGI) Committee for the term of Sept. 1, 2022, through Aug. 31, 2023. Barnett-Foster was appointed by 2022-23 ABA YLD Chairperson Jo Bahn.

The ABA YLD SOGI Committee consists of more than 270 LGBTQ+ legal professionals and allies. The committee supports the ABA's commitment to diversity, inclusion and full and equal participation by LGBTQ+ individuals in the ABA YLD, legal profession and society.

At BAMSL, Barnett-Foster oversees HR, finance, IT and facilities. He also coordinates law-related education and pro bono service programs, and is the staff liaison to BAMSL's LGBTQ+, Motion for Kids, Pro Bono, Veterans and Well-Being committees. He is an active member of the American Bar Association and is a volunteer attorney with Legal Services of Eastern Missouri's Neighborhood Vacancy Initiative.

He earned his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law and his MBA from Columbia College. He and his husband, Aaron Barnett-Foster, live in north St. Louis County, and they have three children.
