Books. They have always been a love of mine. I enjoy escaping into a book and learning about a new culture, being engaged in characters and stories, or allowing the words to sink in and create an opportunity for personal or professional growth.

1. Put your phone away during meals.
2. Develop a regular schedule with your child and partner, M-F — let them know when to expect you to close your computer for the night. Meet that expectation whenever possible.

Although members of the legal community were disturbed by the photos and video showing two attorneys from the St. Louis area brandishing weapons over the weekend, The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL) is a voluntary bar and neither of the depicted lawyers belong to our organization.

Americans are united in their shock and sadness following the tragic death of George Floyd. As a legal organization committed first and foremost to the administration of equal justice, The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL) condemns tactics that violate the constitutional rights of American citizens and acknowledges a nationwide need for dialogue and change around the subject of race and human relations. BAMSL pledges our continued support for the African American and minority communities in the St. Louis region.

Although the 2020-21 BAMSL bar year did not start out exactly as everyone had envisioned, I continue to be impressed with what BAMSL leadership, staff and members have been able to accomplish as we all work remotely.
