A Message from BAMSL President: A Critical Call for Help
Dear BAMSL Members and Friends,
As many of you know, due to the ongoing government shutdown, assistance through the SNAP program (food stamps) has been severely and negatively impacted. This has left so many of our neighbors in Missouri and Illinois, who rely on these vital benefits to make ends meet, in a time of crisis.
In response to this urgent need, we are asking members and friends to consider an urgent donation to the food drive hosted by BAMSL’s Attorneys Against Hunger Committee and the Law Library Association of St. Louis. The food drive has been receiving donations since September to benefit Operation Food Search. Food banks have been crucial in helping families put food on the table, but with the recent cuts to SNAP, the demand has never been greater.
Whether through donations of food, personal care items, cleaning supplies, or monetary support, we can make a significant impact in alleviating the hunger faced by so many in our area. Please consider donating today—your generosity can provide critical support for families in need. Donations will be accepted through Nov. 14 but may be extended if the emergency need continues.
The current locations for drop-off are:
- The Law Library Association of St. Louis, 10 N. Tucker, 13th Floor, St. Louis, MO 63101
- The BAMSL Bar Center, 319 N. 4th Street, Suite 100, St. Louis, MO 63102
If you prefer to make a monetary donation, please click here or contact Susan McCourt Baltz, Executive Director, at sbaltz@bamsl.org. 100% of proceeds will go to Operation Food Search on behalf of the legal community.
Thank you for your compassion and commitment to our community. Let’s come together to support our neighbors in this time of crisis.
