Mission Statement

The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL) is a voluntary bar association with a mission to maintain the highest professional standards among attorneys and to enhance their professional competence, to improve the administration of justice and promote the rule of law, and to provide law-related services and education to the public.
 

Public Policy Positions

Support of the Missouri Nonpartisan Court Plan

BAMSL supports the Missouri Nonpartisan Court Plan and its selection of judges based on merit rather than on political affiliation.
 

Support of the Judiciary

BAMSL supports the administration of justice through fair and impartial courts, a qualified and ethical judiciary, and competent and ethical attorneys and legal professionals. BAMSL also condemns all baseless and personal attacks on judges in our area. The courts and legal processes must be open and fair to all regardless of socioeconomic status, race, color, national origin, religion, age, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

Anti-Discrimination

BAMSL condemns racism and discrimination against all people and in all forms. BAMSL supports the fair and impartial administration of justice and promotes the rule of law. BAMSL believes that the courts, law-related services, and legal processes must be open and fair to all regardless of socioeconomic status, race, color, national origin, religion, age, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
