SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for managing BAMSL’s and The St. Louis Bar Foundation’s websites, as well as developing, administering and tracking electronic communications for the association and overseeing and executing the development, production and maintenance of electronic and web-based communications, including social media, website, and email communications. The position will report to the Assistant Executive Director of Membership/Marketing and will work closely with other staff and the Executive Director. The position is expected to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior service to the association’s attorneys and professional staff and must be able to interact with all levels within the association.

WORK LOCATION

In office in downtown St. Louis.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provide overall management and maintenance of the association’s websites.
  • Plan and execute a measurably effective social media strategy. Identify effective use of social media channels, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and blogs, to promote the BAMSL and its members. Serve as primary contact for social media programs.
  • Work with Graphic Designer to plan, produce and distribute marketing videos to drive membership, participations, and fundraising opportunities.
  • Format and publish new content. Ensure that website and email content is accurate and up to date.
  • Format, distribute, and track all email communications through the association’s email system.
  • Build custom templates on occasion.
  • Serve as primary contact for digital-related projects and initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain search engine optimization (SEO) roadmap/plan.
  • Optimize website content to improve visibility and ranking.
  • Provide regular reports on web, email communications, and blog analytics.
  • Monitor web activity and conduct trend analysis to determine success of specific marketing efforts.
  • Recommend content/strategy approaches based on observations.
  • Support blogs by posting content, ensuring consistency from a technical standpoint, documenting best practices, and identifying opportunities based on analytics.
  • Provide email and web support.
  • Support other marketing projects and initiatives as required.

POSITION-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree with major coursework in communications, marketing or related field; or combination of education and commensurate work experience required.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading and grammar skills.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience required, preferably in a professional services and/or non-profit or association environment.
  • 2+ years of professional writing experience preferred.
  • Experience with website content management systems and HTML required.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Experience with additional Adobe Creative Suite programs preferred.
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics.
  • Solid project management and prioritization skills required.
  • Strict attention to detail, and the ability to consistently produce high volumes of error-free.
  • Work product within tight deadlines required.
