In practice, lawyers’ use of GenAI varies widely. Some are not using it at all or are only beginning to experiment with tools like ChatGPT and Microsoft Co-Pilot for tasks such as client correspondence and marketing. Progressive firms, however, are developing formal processes to leverage GenAI for competitive advantage. Others are staying informed but are not yet ready to invest in it.
