The murder of Nancy Zanone, a young mother in south St. Louis, was front-page news in St. Louis in 1963 and would return there throughout the decade as the prosecution of her killer made its way through Missouri’s courts. Ultimately, the accused, a 15-year-old boy named Joseph Arbeiter, was not convicted for his conduct.
