BAMSL members have exclusive access to email discussion lists dedicated to each Section and Committee. If you are a BAMSL member you may read, post, and reply to posts in the discussion lists for the Sections and Committees to which you belong.
- Manage your Section and Committee membership to join or leave discussion lists.
- Manage your discussion list settings to select how you want to receive list posts (e.g., individual messages, digest, or online only).
- Post messages from the List Viewer or by emailing [List Name]@lists.membercentral.com (for example, bamsl_milp@lists.membercentral.com).

What is a discussion list?
A discussion list permits email discussions with members of a committee or section. It functions in the same manner as regular email, but the single list address contains the email addresses of all the individual committee or section members, yet hides their individual addresses for increased privacy and security. Therefore, by sending out a message to the list address, you are actually sending an email to all members on that list.
What is the objective of a discussion list?
The objective is to facilitate communication between members of a committee or section in regards to the group's activities and other relevant discussions.
Guidelines for Use of BAMSL-sponsored Discussion Lists
- This is a discussion area where opinions and differences are welcome. Limit discussion to substantive, practice, and BAMSL-related topics. Remember that your comments are made in the public domain. You are responsible for your comments just as if this were a live discussion or a printed publication.
- Do not post commercial messages. If you have a service or product that you believe someone may be interested in, contact them directly via private e-mail or other means. Feel free to discuss specific products or services.
- Do not post any defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials. Personal attacks on others are not appropriate. Do not post any information or other material protected by copyright without the permission of the copyright owner. Promotion of or by any candidate for BAMSL office is not appropriate.
Can any list member post and receive messages?
Yes, all members on a list have the ability to receive and post messages for that list.
What happens if a non list member attempts to post a message?
The message will be rejected and an error message will be returned to the attempted sender.
I didn't sign up for any lists. How am I a member of a list?
Lists are comprised of all members of a committee or section. Therefore, by joining a committee or section your email address is automatically added to the list. If you do not want to receive messages from a list, change your discussion list settings.
